Blue Steel v Belsouth 14th May 2006
ANU Blue Steel is the new black - you'd better believe it. Belsouth baby blue had nothing on us in the first half. Mitzi "so hot right now" Gonzales had to be taken off the field because she was near on fire. Tori "where are my ovaries" Rob-Con (I could spell the whole thing but who has time quite frankly) was a defensive force to be reckoned with. Tori was unstoppable in tandem with Annie who converted Rowena's well won penalty. Toying with Belsouth's emotions "oh no I've missed. Just kidding! I have actually hit the inside of the post and have scored you fools!" she continued to muscle it up in the backline for the rest of the game.
Meanwhile, Mel ran like a crazy (as usual) and Kerrie also scored (as usual). From the backline it appeared she could score if she wanted to but quite frankly could not be bothered as she slowed the ball right down but then BAM! Ball went down and in the back of the net! Unfortunately Belsouth also scored once and then allegedly (!!) twice when valiant Cecilia had a goal she'd already saved scored against her. The injustice of it all was almost too much and it is almost certain we would have scored another eight times had the game lasted another eight minutes. But sadly the whistle was blown all too soon and we were forced to resign ourselves to the compromise that, although undeniably we make this look good, we had drawn the football 2-2.
